As early as 1862, Dr. Fr. Schoenfeld successfully transferred the advantages of wet-paste watercolour in tubes to a colour recipe in moulds. This event was the birth of the LUKAS wet watercolour and the history of the Dr. Fr. Schoenfeld company. In honour of this event, we have given our extra-fine watercolour the brand name Aquarell 1862. The fundamental development of the company founder represents the basis of this watercolour with its worldwide reputation to this day.
LUKAS AQUARELL 1862 watercolour provides the best quality with exclusively pure and high quality pigments of the highest permanence and concentration. Approximately 99 % of each pigment is finely ground to 2 μ (2/1000 mm), which gives the colours a pronounced colour intensity and superior transparency. The highest possible pigment concentration characterises the exceptional coverage and dilution value of the binder combination of the purest gum arabic, carefully selected dextrins and special glucose derivatives. The broad colour spectrum of 70 brilliant shades, including 45 single pigment shades, contains classic cobalt and cadmium colours.
